TVIQ – Site Redesign

My Role

UX Lead, end-to-end — from discovery through launch, as an independent consultant to TVIQ, partnering with some friends who built the site.

Problem

TVIQ had just been through a website redesign with an outside agency, and it their work wasn’t received well by the stakeholders at TVIQ. The design and information architecture didn’t align with the image they wanted to portray or the needs or their users. On top of that, the platform it was built on meant TVIQ couldn’t maintain or update the site themselves going forward, which left them dependent on outside help for routine changes.

Process

I needed to understand how TVIQ was different from their competitors and why a site visitor should consider using them for the AdTech needs. After multiple interviews with stakeholders and a competitive scan, I was able uncover the story we should be telling. Using TVIQ turns AdTech into a profit center instead of a cost.

Solution

I designed the site’s user experience around clearly communicating what makes TVIQ’s service offerings different from competitors, and built it on a platform TVIQ could update themselves — no agency dependency for routine content changes. The result was fully responsive, so it held up as well on mobile as on desktop.

Outcomes

TVIQ ended up with a site they were proud to point people to, one their own team could maintain, and one that worked as well on a phone as a desktop. This reduced the time and cost of site updates significantly, which in their fast moving environment gives them an advantage over their competition.
